I like everything to start with a real conversation, without rushing to get anywhere. Every conversation has its own rhythm: we can get to know each other a little, pause and pick it up later without having to start from scratch. I keep an eye on my phone and prefer to reply personally, not with canned messages. If we’ve already talked, let me know and I’ll find our conversation; I’m pretty organized about that. To me, feeling comfortable and being able to talk openly completely changes the mood of the encounter. There’s no need to rush: part of what makes it special is building that moment together.
